Early detection
Regular full-body skin exams allows for the trained eye of a dermatologist to scan all areas in search of suspicious lesions. If something is found, a biopsy may be performed to aid in the diagnosis.
Diagnosis
In addition to cancers, there are many types of skin disorders from the scales of psoriasis to the subtle petechiae which often warn of underlying platelet abnormalities. Obtaining an accurate diagnosis is the first step toward treatment.

From pre-teens to older adults, clogged pores can cause unsightly whiteheads, blackheads which can sometime enlarge into cysts. Medical treatment is often needed to keep acne under control.
